This is the best work on Christ and his church from the Song of Solomon that I have ever read. It is enjoyable reading. It is true to the Scriptures, doctrinally sound, instructive on so many vital subjects, and yet it is written in such language and with such devotion and warmth that all believers will not only understand what they read, but enjoy reading about their Lord and his church.
Pastor Ellsworth writes, 'The true minister is Christ-centred.' That is true and that statement describes this book - Christ-centred! The introduction states that the Lord Jesus 'showed us that we are to read the Old Testament looking for him. He is its subject and, therefore, the key to its understanding.' In this book, Pastor Ellsworth puts that key in the hands of every reader. Henry T. Mahan, Thirteenth Street Baptist Church, Ashland, Kentucky
You do not have to agree with every detail of the author's interpretation to benefit from this book. Because Mr Ellsworth knows his Bible well he will not lead you astray into a false spirituality or to unwholesome conclusion. In a warm and fresh way he brings you to Christ and to all the great doctrines of the Christian faith. The messages challenge the church of Jesus Christ and its individual members concerning their relationship to the Lord and their service for him.
I commend this valuable study and pray that it will result in an evangelical spiritual revival at a personal and church level. From the foreword by: Philip H. Eveson, Principal, London Theological Seminary
