Can Anglican evangelicals influence the direction of the national church as we move into the twenty-first century? Have they lost the vision of the Church of England as an evangelical church that will preach the true gospel to the nation?
In this well-argued and challenging book, Reg Burrows describes developments among Anglican evangelicals since the Keele Congress in 1967. He asserts that ‘if evangelicals don’t throw down the gauntlet there is no hope of winning back the Church of England to the gospel.’
Reg Burrows is Vicar of St Barnabas’ and St Jude’s, Newcastle Upon Tyne. For a number of years in the 1970s and 1980s he was a member of the Church of England Evangelical Council.
