'The writer begins by asking, ‘What is faith?’ He asserts that faith is the activity of the entire heart, the entire life, embracing the weighty matters of personal salvation, and the nitty-gritty details of daily living.
In these sermons, Dr Beeke looks at four aspects of faith as they operate in the lives of five biblical characters. Characters who, because they fall outside the hall of faith of Hebrews 11, are often forgotten as examples of faith, and yet characters who have much to teach us as they demonstrate aspects of faith that are sorely needed today by the church of Jesus Christ.
As these characters are examined we are invited to ask ourselves three questions. Do I have this kind of saving faith? Am I exercising the particular aspect of faith that is being described? And most importantly, how can that particular aspect of faith be used in my life to make me a mature believer?'
'You might well pass over this little volume of four addresses given in 2003 at the Evangelical Movement of Wales Conference, but you will miss out'.
