As Geoff Thomas observes, ‘Every Christian should know more about the life of Dr Lloyd-Jones.’ This concise, and easy-to-read, biography gives an excellent overview of “The Doctor” and is a good place to start. Dr Lloyd-Jones, as the author observes, certainly knew the Lord and it is therefore his hope that this biography will cause many to know God better. It is a thrilling story and from Dr Lloyd-Jones resignation from his promising medical career in December 1926 until the Lord finally took him home, the pace does not slacked.

Dr Davies knew Lloyd-Jones personally and loved the ministry that he exercised, and this warm, well-written biography reflects that. “The Doctor” was unquestionably the greatest preacher of the twentieth century: in the opinion of many his abilities are still unsurpassed.
