Peter Jeffery’s new book, The Cross — the reality of the cross for today, carefully lays out God’s plan for the salvation of his people. In sixteen brief chapters suitable for daily reading or meditation, God’s plan unfolds from creation through the Old Testament events of the Passover and the Day of Atonement, the prophecies in Isaiah, Zechariah and Psalm 22, to the New Testament record of Jesus’ suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, Calvary itself and the tearing of the temple curtain; and, finally, to the application of the cross to contemporary believers.
Now retired from pastoral ministry, Peter Jeffery continues to preach whenever possible and has written nearly 40 books.
